Ah.srmcr-During the past few years, new types of Internet applications which require performance beyond the best-effort service that is provided by the current In-ternet have emerged. These applications include the transmission of voice and video, which require a fixed end-tosnd delay bound in order for the end-user to perceive an acceptable level of service quality. The Differentiated Services (Diffserv) model has been proposed recently to enhance the traditional best-effort service, and provide certain Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees to these applications. Its current definition, however, does not allow for a high level of flexibility or assurance and, therefore, it can not be widely deployed. I n this paper, we introduce a new protocol for a Diffserv architecture which provides a simple and efficient solution to the above problem. I t is a complete protocol, in the sense that it deals with the issues of packet scheduling, admission control, and congestion control. We will show, through experimental results , that our proposed protocol can improve the flexibility and assurance provided by current solutions, while maintaining a high level of network utilization.

Internet network design for quality of service guarantee using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)
By developing the new services such as VoIP and Videoconference, using a mechanism is needed to support the quality of service of the application programs. Different models have been presented to guarantee the quality of service. Among these, the differentiated services can be mentioned which was presented by IETF. In the architecture of the differentiated services, no admission control mechani...
متن کاملA Novel Fuzzy Logic Base Scheduling Mechanism for Service Differentiation in IP Networks
Quality of Service (QoS) refers to a set of rules or techniques that help the network administrators use the available network resources optimally to manage the effects of congestion and to treat the applications according to their needs. The differentiated services architecture (DiffServ) allows providing quality of service to users. The major DiffServ premise is that individual flows with sim...

The General Packet Radio Service extends the existing GSM mobile communications technology by providing packet switching and higher data rates in order to efficiently access IP-based services in the Internet. Even though Quality-of-Service notions and parameters are included in the GPRS specification, no realization path for Quality-of-Service support has been proposed. In this paper we adapt t...
متن کاملA method to increasing the Quality of Service (QoS) in Wireless body area networks by providing a MAC layer Protocol based of Internet of Things
With the development of technology, the use of wireless telecommunication networks for the various affairs is essential. These networks are one of the safest and most widely used networks, for instance, in medical care and remote patient monitoring. What matters is the quality of service in these networks. The purpose of this paper is to increase packet transduction in a wireless body area netw...
متن کاملSimple alternate routing for differentiated services networks
Recent work on differentiated services in the Internet has defined new notions of Quality of Service (QoS) that apply to aggregates of traffic in networks with coarse spatial granularity. Most proposals for differentiated services involve traffic control algorithms for aggregate service levels, packet marking and policing, and preferential treatment of marked packets in the network core. The is...
متن کاملPacket Delay Evaluation Using M/G/WFQ Model
An actual problem is how to evaluate the quality of IP network. Differentiated Services is a promising architecture for the next generation Internet due to its highly flexible, scalable and interoperable design. In Differentiated Services, scheduling disciplines play an important role in achieving service differentiation. In this paper two queuing models are pending: M/G/WFQ and M/G/1/p3. Thus ...
